My only concern is what do you do when there are more than like 20 objects selected at once? Don't you think at a certain point the amount of sub-bounding boxes would be overwhelming?
That is possible. It has never bothered me in the past, but we'll have to see how we get on. Perhaps we could increase the transparency of the boxes as the number of items increases, or something.
I'm not trying to steal you away from sodipodi, but I think that you will find our development community is more supportive of direct changes/revisions to the codebase. Come check us out...
Looks good :-) The fact that the inkscape toolbars are docked to the main window gives you an instant 1-0 lead! (especially since I'm using Windows)
I haven't got around to compiling inkscape yet, but it looks like the patch I just submitted to the sodipodi patch tracker should apply to inkscape as well. It's only a "first cut", but it gives you the idea.
