They've had some discussions about possibly including Inkscape, and I'm worried about some of their impressions. I'm not sure how to address their concerns. "Too much flux" and "Development has slowed" wtf!?
I wish they had contacted us, we could have made the v2.0 cut...

I wish more GTK software ran on both windows and other operating systems. I feel much safer about the long term survival of any software (even proprietary) that doesn't limit itself to one platform.

to an outsider the changes in the dependancies could be quite daunting.
and "Development has slowed" wtf!?
the time between releases was longer for 0.39 - 0.40
Inkscape provides nightly builds so I can very easily see new features but other may not realise what is going on or may be making their judgments based on how often the update news section of the website is updated.

taken together seems almost mutually contradictory.

I'm surprised they didn't make contact as they contacted Dia, although I do know if anyone involved with Dia responsed or got involved in their dicussions.

Although it is extremely helpful for testing to have Inkscape packaged with everything it needs I expect theOpenCD project would very much appreciate a version of Inkscape that was compiled against a seperate shared GTK because they are already shipping GTK for the Gnu Image manipulation program and Dia (and maybe Gaim and other apps too). A version of Inkscape that could run directly off the disk, might also grab their attention.
