Hi,
It seems the most recent autopackage builds don't work in Fedora.
I am wondering why this is and if there is anything I can do to help fix it.
Thanks, ~m

I believe that the reason for this was a library naming issue. Where Fedora was adding the version number as part of the name of the library. I don't remember which one, unfortunately.
I guess that leads to a few questions. Did Fedora do this as part of a work around for another bug, or is this going to be constant?
If it's going to be around for a while, I think we either have to statically link in the library or build two autopackages for the different distos. Aaron, do you have any other info?
Máirín, I'm guessing you have the autopackage that isn't working. I forget the name of the library, but can you ask the Fedora people what the plan is regarding it?
Thanks, Ted

My autopackage builds have been thoroughly screwed for a long time and I haven't had a chance to rectify the situation. But the good news is that someone has agreed to work with me in providing autopackage builds. Hopefully we can get it straightened out quickly together.

Just an FYI, apart from anything going on with the inkscape builds, I had a very bad experience installing inkscape from the autopackage on Fedora 6. AP messed with some gnome or GTK icon store and all my gnome apps went haywire (couldn't access stored passwords through gnome-keyring, etc), ...
The bug is reported fixed in the development builds, but there's not an obvious way to use those when installing an autopackage, since it downloads the autopackage software on its own. Uninstalling autopackage fixed the problem for me
Anyhow, in case anyone else runs into the same problem, the bug report is at http://trac.autopackage.org/ticket/39
