Hi, last June there was a thread in this list regarding the visibility of the status bar texts. Sometimes the text string is too long to be seen completely, especially on smaller screens. Has there been any more discussion on this issue? Should I file an RFE. I also made a mockup of a possible solution to this problem; a kind of "frame" that can be toggled visible/invisible when necessary by clicking a button or using a keyboard shortcut. (see: http://www.asixinformatica.com/archivos/inkscape_tooltip_mockup.png)
Greetings,

I would say, if a help line doesn't fit, it shopuld elipsize in tghe end and an unfolding/folding button should appear. Yes, it would be neat to have it as RFE.

Hmm, I favor the elipsis + tooltip approach. It's what most other stuff does these days in similar situations.

Tooltip only, no extra boxes or buttons please. I'm not sure the ellipsis is really necessary, and in any case I don't know how to add it in the right place.

I hope the description is clear enough and that it's not too hard to implement.
