There could be several ways to do that. One example of a 'properties on a set of things' approach is that used by iTunes when you set info on several songs at once. Individual properties get checkboxes to have them set, otherwise they remain untouched.

You should probably do a quick search on the bug tracker to see if we have a wishlist item for this already. If not, be sure to get one in so we can track progress on it.

(the request-a-feature type items are handled in the same tracker as our general bugs)
