Currently we have 'Convert to Gtkmm' as the goal for 0.37. However, I think this is a bit ambitious for us to do at present.
I'd like to propose we reduce the scope of the Gtkmm work for the next release. Instead of converting the entire codebase, I'd like to suggest we focus on creating one Gtkmmifying dialog, such as Nathan's grid dialog or perhaps implementing Tom Ingham's new object properties mockup (opinions?)
This would allow us to put more focus into doing the C++ conversion in an orderly fashion. I think if we start converting to C++ willy nilly we may get ourselves into a royal mess, but if we focus on subsystems serially, one at a time, we can achieve better quality.
How does this sound?
