Exporting or rasterizing clip or mask areas ?
Am I wrong or missing something. I don't figure how to rasterize or export to bitmap only the cliped or masked area of a drawing. It always export the whole drawing.

Not reproduced with current trunk on OS X 10.7.4 - could you attach a sample file which doesn't export for as expected?
It could be for example related to Bug #1005085 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1005085 “Clipping path not set clipped object to its new size immediately” (due to caching of visual bounding box values)
or maybe to a change in the default bitmap export options for 'Selection': In current trunk, '[x] Hide all except selected' seems to be activated by default, unlike in current stable 0.48.3.1 (I don't know when and why this was changed).

It appears that this change was implemented based on this request:

- Wouldn't it be better to remember the last used setting in the preferences, instead of flipping the default setting (with trunk, users who prefer a different workflow now have to uncheck the setting again in each new session).
- For batch export, 'Hide all except selected' is still broken [1] and probably ought to be made insensitive if batch export is checked (or fixed).
- 'Hide all except selected' disabled for 'Page', 'Drawing' and 'Custom': 'Hide all except selected' used to work for 'Page', 'Drawing' and 'Custom' as well (in current stable) and allows e.g. to export only the currently selected object(s) to a bitmap with the defined (fixed) size, e.g. of the page or drawing content, or custom. Why was this option disabled in current trunk?
