Hello,
I know it's a bit late but is it still possible to work on ShapeOpera for Google Summer of Code?
- Stefan

Sorry that I'm asking but I have no experience with GSoC:
Shall I send the application directly to google or to you?
And is it enough to follow the template at:
http://socghop.appspot.com/org/show/google/gsoc2009/sxc

Submit your application now and we can work it out later

According to your template I wrote the following text. Is it ok so far? Do i have a chance? And if so, what and in which form can/should I write about the project (further development of ShapeOpera) and the goals? (I just recognized your GSoC participation and ShapeOpera yesterday and (as I mentioned) had nothing to do with GSoC before so I haven't that overview...)
Inkscape:
I use Inkscape for several years now (I don't know exactly). I'm a long time linux user and I'm trying to use as much open source software as possible and when I searched for a free vector drawing program I first found Sodipodi and later Inkscape (...and just got stuck on it).
I use Inkscape for creating graphics for my writings during lectures or for exercise documents which I write for my tutorials or practice lessons of some of my lecturers.
I also use it to create graphical content for Flash applications which I develop for academical purposes (I like the interface and the handling of Inkscape better than that of the Flash Editor or Illustrator).
And I use it for crating graphics for a JavaScript based animated web site I'm currently developing for a little company.
I never participated in the development of Inkscape but I planned to do so because I'd like to see SVG/JavaScript growing to an open and standardized alternative to Flash/Silverlight with the same functionality and I think Inkscape is the best editor component for this. And that's also the reason I'd like to work on the ShapeOpera project because I think that it could be an important step in this direction.
About myself:
My name is Stefan Zimmermann and I'm a Computer Science student at a small University of Applied Sciences in Germany. I'm currently working on my diploma thesis which is about some sort of Virtual Reality System (it's a bit secret at the moment...) which I develop using C++ / WxWidgets / OpenGL / Nvidia Scene Graph .
My past and current programming projects were/are mainly for academic purpose. I wrote a lot of sample programs for the teachings of my lecturers relating Java / DirectShow based media streaming, web development with HTML / CSS / JavaScript / PHP / Java / Flash/Flex, network programming, logical programming with Prolog, ... I contributed code components to other projects at my University (mainly providing certain fast algorithms like a multi threaded distribution sort...) And I'm programming an Augmented Reality application with marker tracking using OpenCV and Blender's Game Engine.
The only open source project I worked on so far is an OpenCV wrapper for the Vala programming language but it's still at the beginning and wasn't updated for months because of the lack of time but now I dropped many of my tutorial / auxiliary scientist activities at University to focus on diploma and doing more open source development...

Just a little addition:
The OpenCV wrapper is at:

Hello, developers list.
On Google's site I've made proposal to Inkscape, please see it there. I was ill, so I couldn't discuss my ideas earlier, but I'm seriously interested in this work (topic - Multithreading, bulia byak and MentalGuy told me that it's good to be done in Inkscape). I hope to get your approval.
