a long time ago there was only dw2 for windows. The problem was that exception catching accross dll boundries was not possible. The sjlj supports this. I am not an expert but I fear to mix libraries compiled using different versions dw2/sjlj.

Why? There does not seem to be a consensus that SJLJ is in general better than DW2. See for instance:
