For devel list: the discussion was about the bug which prevents some fonts to display their bold variants on OS X.

The bug is already filled for Inkscape. Don't know about Pango but since it is quite old I hope it went back to them. Gail worked a lot with Pango stuff for the summer of code. Gail do you know if they are aware of this issue and what is needed to solve it? Inkscape bug tracker will be moved to Launchpad soon. Once it's done, Launchpad will allow us to link our bugs to those of other projects, including Pango probably. Such issues will therefore be much easier to forward upstream if it's not already done.
