here's the version for filesize reduction
I also did a couple minor adjustments to the image, including fixing the gimpy leg a little and adjusting the kerning on INKSCAPE slightly.

This may be way off. However, I have looked at Andy's About .svgz files and they show up pin sharp. I did the same with your one Mental and it is awful. Jagged edges everywhere and Inkscape logo looks like it is having a bad-hair day. I looked at them with a recent version of Inkscape and also with my default Adobe SVG viewer. Same results with both. I am using Win 2000.

That look's intentional. ;-)

OK. But I hope you and I are seeing the same image. Andys "abouts" look clean and well formed. Someone might not go for the contents, that is personal choice, but the execution is clearly correct. Mentals image looks as if something has been translated very poorly. The text is sharp but to me it jars badly against the jagged lines of the image. At first site it looks like something has gone wrong with the file. But if thats the way it should be then so be it.

I personally agree with that. Andy's graphic seems more clear and better suited for an about box to me. But the release package is already out... :-(

Guys thanks for liking my image. Personally I like the final version more. Possibly because of how we got there. The final version is a sketch by mental, rendered by me drawn by mental again then changed by me and then altered by bulia and then we passed it around once more for fun!
Thats why i like it best.
There'll be another release. On 6/23/06, Spyros Blanas <sblanas@...400...> wrote:
