Draft Filter Effects Chapter for Inkscape Guide
Hi,
I've put a draft of the Filter Effects chapter for an update to my book at:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Filters_0.46.html
Hopefully this will generate some interest in using the filters and result in better testing. And it would be great if it motivated somebody to complete the Image filter primitive which would be very useful.
If you are interested in comparing Inkscape rendering to your favorite browser's rendering, you can find web pages with Inkscape png and svg files starting at:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/images/FILTERS/index.xml
Happy Filtering,
Tav

Whats the license on those examples?
I wondered if some of those, in particular the complex ones at http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/images/FILTERS/index_complex.xml could be used in the SVG test suite?

Yes, you can use them in the SVG test suite. They are currently licensed CC Attribution, Noncommercial, No Derivative Works... but I am flexible.
You should check that files are correct SVG.

They wouldn't be includable if they're marked Noncommercial or No Derivative.
