I have recently jumped in and I still feel a bit uncomfortable with the idea of possible redundant work. Can we start a new page at the wiki to map our current efforts on the filter effects development? It would list for each filter, who has already done what an which problems have emerged. I feel that this way we can have a better idea of which areas need more work and which filters are already fully compliant with the specs.

I have added a list of all filter primitives under the Filter Effects page in Inkscape wiki. There isn't much info, I've only marked, which of them are implemented in SVN trunk. You can use this list for noting what you're working on, what problems are there with different filter primitives and so on.
I extended the list of filter primitives to a table. I also added "Work in progress" notes - hope they are correct.

Thank you, that looks great. My wiki-fu is clearly not strong enough ;)
I updated a couple notes there already. I guess, I should write something there in general bugs section, too.
