Hi,
during a couple of boring compilation phases I recently decided to use my multitasking capabilities :) to eliminate quite a few instances of SP_ACTIVE_DESKTOP. These eliminations should be harmless because they mainly involved passing in the desktop variable from the caller. Anyway, please keep the change in mind and report any bugs this might nonetheless have introduced. E.g., I encountered one place in widgets/toolbox.cpp where the obvious change broke things (it's not committed yet; I'll have to investigate this further since it looks like there is bug hidden somewhere else).
Since I wanted the changes to be safe I didn't touch the floating dialogs stuff. It's probably better if someone with more knowledge in this area (Gustav?) tackles this.
