Hello,
Thanks to Bulya I just noticed that if I create a gradient, the following line:
xmlns:xlink="& #38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38; #38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;ns_xlink;"
gets added at the beginning of the file, around line 8 or 9, and when I open this file in Inkscape I get the following parser warning:
/home/jfl/x.svg:9: parser warning : xmlns:xlink: '& #38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38; #38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;ns_xlink;' is not a valid URI 38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38;#38; ns_xlink; ^
What is that?

I cannot reproduce this. This may come from a corrupted default template, look into your share/templates/default.svg.
