This is a request for feedback, I've submitted a proposal for a .dxf input routine at https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/293940 and thought I'd ask for feedback while deciding what to do with it. It is a limited scope input routine, supporting AutoCAD Release 13, designed as a counterpart to the existing Desktop Cutting Plotter output.
