Inkscape 0.43 Hard Freeze
With the completion of the bug party today, it is time to move into the hard freeze for Inkscape 0.43, under the watch of our release wardens pjrm and joncruz.
Today's testing unfortunately did not cover all of the new features, but we did manage to bang on the connector code really hard, and scared up a number of bugs in it (no showstoppers, but a couple crashes and a lot of odd behaviors.) We attempted to get the inkboard feature working, but did not succeed in establishing a working connection, so there's at least one bug there... We closed about 10 bugs today, mostly invalid/dupe/outdated, but there were a few fixes.
pjrm and joncruz will be the release wardens for this release. All changes to the codebase must go through them. Do not commit to CVS; instead post your changes as patches to the tracker with your rationale for why to include them before or after the 0.43 release.
Peter and Jon will decide when the codebase is ready for release. This may include requiring specific bugs be fixed, or tasks to be done. When they feel it is ready, the codebase will be tagged and branched, and we will enter the release phase.
I will continue to track tasks for the 0.43 release, but it will be up to them whether to wait until all those tasks are complete or to decide we are ready to release with some tasks still unfinished.
