Is this one of any interest to you? I am really a beginner with Inkscape and have set out to learn how to do drawings like the attached. 8-)
Sorry for not responding before. Ideally, a screenshot must be both: (1) visually stunning and (2) demonstrating some new feature for the release. Yours is nice visually (is it your artwork?) but I'd like it to show not just the layer menu but the newest layer menu which would show some of the layers grayed out (hidden) and some in [] (locked). Can you please do that? Best of all in 1280x1024 resolution which is what other screenshots use, but this is not necessary.
And a request for everyone: One feature we really need showcased for 0.41 is the color tracing. Can someone please do it? Ideally it would show several trace modes, different number of colors, etc., with brief captions as on this one:

Make sure the original photo is free to reproduce.

I have had problems downloading a later version with the new menu you refer to, lost .dll files and other problems, also not closing down, so I am going to wait for the next stable version. I do not have the knowledge to fix these bugs. Will send something in due course. I did not realise I was on the development list, think I had better unsubscribe ...
