By popular request (and personal need) I've added an additional view mode which lies between "Outline" and "Normal"; objects retain their normal appearance except that filter effects are not applied.
This is most useful when interactively drawing in complex documents and leaving filters enabled would harm responsiveness too much. Editing or tweaking existing paths is still often best done in "Outline" mode.

Thanks! But there's no indication that thus mode is in effect, which is potentially confusing. The outline mode has the window title changed by adding (outline), can you do the same for the no-filters mode? Or can you suggest something else?

Noo. I like the way it works now. At any time, you are likely to need to switch between just two of the modes, one of which is outline - and this is what the toggle does now, switching between the most recent non-outline and outline modes. Making it go the full circle will just mean that in most cases you'll need to do an extra keypress and suffer an extra redraw to get to where you want to be.
