Sorry to be terse, but I'm running late... here is the 0.47pre1 distribution. Lots of great fixes, please test and ensure we have a truly great release!

(Not there yet, I'm guessing a caching issue on SF's side... I'll be on a plane, but someone e-mail the list if they don't show up in a little while.)

Ted, all,
did someone officially managed to build the pre0 on win32? I had a lot of problems because of the test codes inside. After removing that I was able to build successfully. I put the pre0 win32 on sf download pages just yesterday.
pls let me know if anyone encountered problems.

I could do a LEOPARD-Intel only build around lunch time today but that would limit its usefulness. Michael, any chance you could provide a Universal build?

I have one nearly ready, but I was just fixing some of the issues still that ~suv pointed out with the last build. I'm fixing the spell- checking crash right now and then I will upload it and post here.
Cheers, Michael

Okay, I have uploaded a Inkscape-0.47-pre1-1.LEOPARD.dmg package.
This package includes fixes for: - The OCAL import problem (due to missing gnome-vfs libraries). - The spellcheck crash. It includes aspell and all available dictionaries. I've committed the fixes to SVN and included them in this package.
Note: Including the dictionaries has pretty much doubled the package size up to 138MB, so I don't think it is going to be a good idea to bundle the dictionaries. I'll leave it like this for pre1 since I only noticed as I was about to upload it. Probably we should just distribute the english dictionary and give instructions for people to download dictionaries from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict and set up an appropriate ~/.aspell.conf file.
P.S. It took me forever to find how to update the release pages on the new SourceForge layout! Grrr.
Cheers, Michael

Does somebody familiar with building 0.46(+devel) on Tiger know if the new system clipboard support works with Apples 'X11 v. 1.1.3 - XFree86 4.4.0'?
g2010a has offered to contribute Tiger builds and reports issues with copy&paste: vector objects copied to the clipboard are pasted as bitmaps, within the same document as well as between two document windows.

Is that not related to the changes in XQuartz (XQuartz changes make it to the official X11 from apple at some point). The "Pasteboard" preferences of X11 need to be altered: deselect "Update Pasteboard when clipboard changes" select the next two deselect the last one
This preference tab might not be visible in some locales. In which case, switch to english in System pref > international, then reopen X11 make the changes, switch back to the original language.

that happens only with the latest releases of XQuartz (those with the 'enhanced' clipboard syncing features) - but on Tiger, the last update for X11 is from 2006 (by Apple), and newer versions are only available via macports (not as precompiled packages).
g2010a says he is using the X11 version that shipped with 10.4. There are no options in the preferences regarding the clipboard.
I'm not familiar with Tiger - is copying of text or bitmaps between X11 (xterm, NEdit, Inkscape 0.46, GIMP...) and native OS X applications in general possible?

Is X11 still needed for GTK programs on Mac OS? What is the status of nativ gtk? Has anyone tested it recently with Inkscape?
