Inkscape logo Public Domain? Can't be right.
I ran across this today. Is there no peer review on Open Clip Art?

There is, but its a related project ,and the file is fairly new.
I agree that logo's should not be licensed and should be governed under trademark, but I don't think this has ever been discussed...
Do you all agree that Inkscape logo is not licensed under license and is a shared copyright between the contributors?
Cheers
Jon

Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. It is the best place to buy or sell services for just about anything Open Source. http://p.sf.net/sfu/Xq1LFB _______________________________________________ Inkscape-devel mailing list Inkscape-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/inkscape-devel

If you look at the guys uploads, looks like most of them violate the guidelines.

Looks like some info here. http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=1184822317.20062.5....
Ultimately, I think it should be given to a Inkscape foundation. Something with a governing body. The name and logo image. This is what I did with Ubuntu Studio.

Hi Cory, moving this conversation to openclipart.org list.

Ok. But the licensing issue (as it's Inkscape specific) will stay here right? I'm interested and don't want to join another list.

Sure :)
We've talked about it before, and I've talked with the SFLC folks about actually getting a trademark and permissive license agreement setup. Nothing drastic, just enough that we don't get stuck with someone else trademarking it and suing us -- which would be silly, but possible.
I'll e-mail Bradley today on this, and try and get things moving. It's lingered long enough.

Ok, so it needs to be removed from Open Clip Art Library...done.
The other images are being reviewed now.
