There are some reported workarounds I added in the comments of bug #482993 “Inkscape extensions do not work on MacOS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)”: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/482993
Maybe this helps to find a confirmed interim solution until we have a new package for Snow Leopard?
