Just a quick note that I added an initial layer to the default template. Now new documents will be created with "Layer 1" active.

Also the hide/lock buttons now at last look correct (though they are not functional yet). This means that Inkscape's face is now fit for shooting. Please send here (or submit to patch tracker) your screenshots showing the nice things you are doing with Inkscape CVS. The more complex and beautiful is the stuff on your canvas, the better. Show something that not everyone can do! The best shots will be published on the site in time for the 0.40 release.
