SVG backend for Gnome Print in progress
I thought you might be interested to learn that an SVG backend for Gnome-Print is currently underway and that there is work already in Gnome CVS.
Christian Schaller (Uraeus) mentions it in here http://www.advogato.org/person/Uraeus/diary.html?start=288
Dom Lachowicz mentions it on the Gnome Office mailing list http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-office-list/2004-March/msg00121.html Very short quote: 1) It emits SVG1.2/SVGPrint compliant SVG. This means that it supports multi-page docs via the <pageSet>, <page> tags. Unfortunately, no viewers support such a construct yet. LibRSVG gets it right for page 1. Of course, since I own librsvg, I can move on making it support multi-page SVGs.
I'm thinking I should file an RFE asking for support of the <pageSet> and <page> tags?
Sincerely

Well, I guess it's not absolutely necessary since a core goal is full SVG-compliance (and that means implementing <pageSet> and <page> somehow).
I'm personally still focusing on implementing all of SVG 1.0 before I invest a lot of effort into 1.2 features, but having the RFE there to nag us will still probably result in it getting done sooner.
