We have one blocker left. Apparently some preferences need to be migrated over from 0.46. JonCruz was working on this, but, he just started a new job and doesn't really have the time necessary to finish it.
At this point, we need to figure out a list of preferences to see if this really is a blocker issue or what. It makes no sense to hold up the release if no one is going to fix the last problem (we have tons of other issues that we're willing to release with after all).
I know of the "recent documents" being one thing that doesn't carry over. What else people?

Also, when you are using Node tool to edit, say, top envelope deformation path and then remove the LPE, you still see that top path and can drag it around. Not that it changes anything.
Of course, it might again be just me and my silly local issues :)

Do you mean this https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/437929 ??? What about to load and modify all related preference values before first read access to preferences in order to "migrate" settings.?
