Updated bug hunt tally: 378/500 Bug hunting stalled!!
The current bug hunt tally is now 378/500. Newly fixed bugs:
6 168387 van Lierop Display mode toggle doesn't update radio... 3 396580 JazzyNico non-ASCII characters not displayed...
The average number of points per day has dropped to 1 in the past week!! Bug hunting seems to have stalled.
Let me know if you think I missed any bugs that should have been credited. Remember, they must be marked Fixed Released or Fixed Committed.

Hi,
There is three bugs here with patches to fix them:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/168780 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/404488 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/404941
If someone could review them and do a svn commit is they are Ok.
Yann.

I have a fairly simple idea.
1. Cut from 500 to 400 points. 2. Reach them by the time GSoC is over and release 0.47. 3. Merge GSoC code, recent 2geom work (especially the speeding up thing), Spray tool, Maximilian's guide selection feature and anything else we have in our sleeves (Jon Cruz! Jon Cruz! Jon Cruz! Color!). 4. Make a feature freeze and do a hell of testing and bugs fixing. 5. Kick 0.48 out around Christmas. 6. Proceed to 0.49 development cycle (to be released right before another GSoC) and thus get back to twice releases a year schedule.

I still see 4 critical issues targeted for the 0.47 release, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+milestone/0.47 Also building the distrib package is not possible out of the box.
I suggest we cherry pick the necessary issues really necesary to push the release and then focus our effort on those.

I can add another one :)

Sorry for the top-post. Alexandre's idea for accelerating this cycle is quite appealing. Can other people chime in with their thoughts? So far it looks like three voting "Yes"... And as we saw with last release, once you lose a certain amount of momentum, it takes a bit for it to pick back up.
Additionally, I must add that my personal life has had some unexpected changes over the past couple weeks, hence my reduced activity and presence. It appears that there will be a point in the next couple months where I will be unable to contribute at all for an unknown period of time. Taking this into consideration, I would love for us to get 0.47 moving forward again so that I can finish out my role as Release Warden properly, rather than handing it over before finished.
Cheers, Josh

Bug hunting has picked up again... I would propose giving it another week. As I probe various areas of Inkscape I am finding that this version of Inkscape is less polished than the last few (not unexpected given the long development period). It would help to have a few more bugs fixed.

I don't have any experience with releases but if there is something I can do to help (in addition to updating the bug hunt count), let me know.

Any help in triaging the bug reports is welcome. We currently have 558 bugs that are tagged both "new" and have their importance set to "undecided" :-(

I'll see what I can do here with the limited time I have :(
