
This may just be unexpected behavior.
While drawing a line, If I select Undo before I've finished that line, it will undo the previous action, or remove the previous object. Now if I finalize the line I'm drawing and select Redo, it doesn't do anything. The previous action/object it undid is now lost.
I was expecting that if I selected Undo while I was drawing a line, it would cancel or remove the line I was working on.

No. Undo undoes change to the document. While the line is not finished, there's no change to undo yet. Just press Esc to cancel the unfinished line.
