Bob, in Inkscape0401280318.zip there's some problem with icons: they are all different from Linux version and often disappear (leaving black squares). Maybe something related to the recent glade/icons rename? Could you please have a look?

Some of the latest changes are not good.
1 Comments on icons.
* group selected objects * ungroup selected objects * flip selection horizontally * flip selection vertically * transform * align and distribute * view/zoom * view/drawing
These are all now fuzzy, poor colour contrast and much less clear than previous icons. I am using a 21" monitor. I hate to think what they are like on anything less. With the view/zoom icons I question the need for the magnifying glass - why not simply a slightly larger circle? In fact since these are all under view I think we should dispense with the handle on the magnifying glass for all these icons. What do others think?
2 pick averaged colour from image
This is broken. It is showing the text icon.
The sterile look of the rest is a change that I can get used to-maybe even like after a little while, but I do not like the extra clutter on the icons.
3 What is the significance of the little + sign on rectangle, spiral etc? It seems to be unnecessary and distracting especially when there is a standard + sign in the zoom icon.
4 The calligraphic icon needs work. The old one was better. D is for distracting :-)
5 about Inkscape is broken. It comes up blank.
Just some initial thoughts.
