Yes, Maren. I'd like to make the edits directly, so I just signed up with GitLab. I have two questions:
  1. Can I keep the free basic account beyond the 30-day trial?
  2. Obviously I don't want to create a project but just edit the Inkscape project, but GitLab prompts me to create or import a project, even when clicking an Edit in GitLab link from the documentation. What is the best option, and if it's import, do I click the GitLab export button?

I've already been taking notes on edits, but I'm looking forward to putting them in as soon as possible.

Hi David,

thanks, that would be awesome!

So, depending on your idea of proofreading and technical expertise,
there would be two different ways to do it:

* You could try the guide out, and note down the areas that need an
update and your suggestion for how to update them in an issue on Gitlab.

* Or you could edit the guide's source .rst files in your fork and make
one merge request per chapter with your updates, and then we'll talk
about your changes there in the MR discussion thread.

And if you have questions about how something works before you make a
change to the text, please ask those in the documentation chat channel
at https://chat.inkscape.org/channel/documentation .

Does that answer your question?

Kind Regards
  Maren
