Hah! I saw that. But I thought it meant comments in the coding or
programming for the website. (I've heard about "commenting in" or
"commenting out" in some kinds of codes.) When things are briefly written
like that, without much explanation or detail, I tend to think it's
developers addressing each other. (And of course I like to stay out of
that, if possible.)
Maybe if the word "gallery" was in the report somewhere? Because
don't we already get notified (the flashing envelope icon) for messages in
profiles? Maybe that could be used to notify for both kinds of comments?
I understand about the editing issue. Personally, it annoys me
when admins prevent editing in forums. I understand why they do it, but
here in the gallery, I'm not sure if those reasons matter. I wouldn't
think technical or emotional discussions would occur much, if at all.
Although having said that, I'm not prepared to press the issue.
Except I wonder if it could become a space issue, where there's a lot of
back and forth, correcting, explaining, etc. But maybe space isn't an
issue?

Editing comments is something that would need to be discussed.
I don't think it's a priority currently, but you can make a feature
request. There are many sites that don't allow to edit your comments -
and that could be an advantage for moderation. I don't have a
preference there.
