no information about installing a Windows version without admin rights for me as a user ?
Hello, Good evening,
(I found the address of the list on the page Community - https://inkscape.org/community/mailing-lists/ )
First, I can not find a page link labelled as Contact on the Inkscape website.
And at the end of the FAQ page, there is no section named Contact.
I have not found any information about the installation of Inkscape on a Windows computer as a user without administration right in the FAQ page...
Frequently Asked Questions — for Inkscape Users
https://inkscape.org/learn/faq/
There is neither information about non-admin user installation in the Windows page for version 0.92.4 :
https://inkscape.org/release/0.92.4/windows/
Yours sincerely,
Good night,
For contacting developers, volunteers, or other users you can go to inkscape chat. It should be in Community > Chat
https://chat.inkscape.org/channel/inkscape_user
And to install inkscape without admin rights you could either put the contents of the dmg package (if you are using mac) in the desktop (because you will not be allowed to copy anything to the applications folder) and use it from there
Or, if you are using windows, download the 7z version, decompress it and use it.
Or you can also try the inkscape version that is packaged throughout portableapps.com/apps
Good luck!

Hi Pascal,
as Inkscape is a community driven project, there's no "single point of contact", support is given through the community.
See https://inkscape.org/community/ which has a section for "User Support and Discussion" that lists multiple ways to contact the community to get help.
As for you particular issue, Inkscape is not supposed to be installed without administrative rights, basically because it can not perform the necessary installation steps without these privileges. However, if you don't mind adding shortcuts yourself, you can simply download the compressed 7z archive and extract it into any location for which you have write permissions.
Cheers, Patrick

I agree that there needs to be a more visible means of contacting someone from the website. As a soon-to-be former website owner/admin, it's something I've always felt strongly about - no matter what kind of software the website might represent.
But hopefully, now that we have a forum, that will be a good access route for people needing help with the website.
