Hi,
just a couple of thoughts:

I suppose we'll need some policy regarding @inkscape.org
accounts.
Suggestions?
- Hooking up moderation with a shared sender email address, and copies
of all communication sent to the other members, would probably be enough
for the moderation part, I think. Moderators would get access to that
automatically via the web interface.
- For the more official mail addresses, I'm not sure what we need and
what should be the rules.
Maybe something like webmaster@, press@(?), contact@ (do we want that?
We have the lists...), ... and have those accessible to the
corresponding group of people who are sharing the responsibility for
that area. There already is a contact form hidden on the website, which
is linked from some of the registration pages, for the case that someone
can't register. I think currently Martin gets those mails.
Maybe even a more accessible contact form could be enough...
I don't think we need personal email addresses, unless maybe the board
members want their own to use for official communication ;)
We do need official rules for uploads.
Care to propose something?
- I was hoping for the T&C from the SFC to contain those rules, but we
might need a more user-understandable summary, too.
To my understanding, uploads should:
- conform to US family friendly standards (we might need to explain
that, for the non-US people like me...)
- not contain malware, spyware, adware or other things that can damage
or block a downloader's computer
- not be intended to damage the
inkscape.org infrastructure
- not contain advertising for anything but Free software / Free Culture
- not be intended to discrimate against anyone, or to hurt anyone
- not be abusing inkscape.org's infrastructure as a file-sharing
platform for things totally unrelated with Inkscape
- not infringe anyone's copyright
- and probably more, like conform to US legislation
On the positive side, I think, in general uploads should:
- have a relation to Inkscape (made with it, made for it, have to do
with organisation for the project, be an extension for it, teach it,...)
- show other users what one can do with Inkscape
- help other users to get the most out of Inkscape
- be the most welcome if they use open licences, so others can learn
more from them
And then there are also the comments which need a set of rules. We
currently link to the non-finished CoC...
What are the others' ideas for mails, uploads, T&C, CoC and comments?
Regards,
Maren
