Hi Friends, I think I've asked about this before, but the answer didn't sink in, and it still confuses me. When I look at the Tutorials filter in the gallery (https://inkscape.org/gallery/=tutorial/) at the bottom of the page, in the right column, are a bunch of extra galleries, all empty.
Similarly, the SVG Tool filter (https://inkscape.org/gallery/=svg-tool/) also has a bunch of empty galleries at the bottom. Inkscape Template File filter (https://inkscape.org/gallery/=inkscape-template-file/) has a couple of them too.
I don't immediately see how those are being created. I would guess someone found how to do it, and just made some galleries. But if they're empty, I wonder if they should be removed?

I think users have made them playing with the website.
We can remove them if you're an admin. Or we can add an issue to the bug tracker to make it so empty galleries aren't shown on category pages.

Well yes, I assumed some people found some way to do it.
Aahh, I finally found it! Not easy to do! Now that I see it, maybe I would want to make a collection of tutorials that way.....we'll see.
Since I'm not an admin, I can't help with deleting them. To me, it would be preferable to delete them (out of existence) if they remain empty for say a couple of months. But I also understand that the admins probably have no interest in keeping up with such a task.
Making them not show on the category pages would solve part of the problem. But that would probaby allow them to accumulate over time. Don't they take up space in the code?
Could there be some mechanism to automatically delete a gallery that's been empty for some amount of time? Or make it accessible to moderators to handle it? It seems to fall appropriately into a moderation issue, if you look at it from the point of view of being an empty gallery.
Well anyway, I'll be glad to write an issue, if that's what you would prefer.

Not code, just a small entry in the database.
