There seems to currently be a bug in Inkscape website that prevents new languages for translation from being added, this bug is reportedly fixed but until it goes from staging to the live website I believe you cannot begin translation to pt-BR.
Besides that there seems to be some sort of problem preventing me currently from copying plugins from original English pages to Portuguese to begin translation, so I am also tied to editing or finishing started ones current.

The FAQ page has been marked as being currently under review and changes so it is not a good page to start with as it will be subject to change. All other ones that Maren as declared as 'static' or at least stable for now are already translated to Portuguese so you can't really help with anything else right now
That is why I suggested starting with the news section, it is section of the main website as valid as any other to begin translating ;)

How can I start translating fixed parts of the site?

Not very much interested in the news right now. But in the FAQ and maybe tutorials. :)

Cheers from Brazil.

Thank you very much for the explanation, Portuguese Downloads page
updated. Also fixed all the links and reconnected them back to the CMS
plugin so it can be correctly copied as base again.

On a side note, if Pablo, Victor are full of energy and want to help out
lets not waste human power. :)
While the site update doesn't go live and they can't start translating
the BR version maybe they can help with the PT one. If they are
available they could start out with the "news" section and help
translate the latest 2014 and 2015 news since they are generally smaller
content and easy to start with . I was saving them for last but it's
probably gonna take me a while o get there and that way when the
Brazilian site goes live those can be ported there and no effort is
wasted. Eventually after that happens I'll then update the PT news if
needed.

Thanks again, Duarte
