Hi João Victor,

I am also a Brazilian myself so feel free to ping me in private if you need further help.

Welcome aboard!!

Hi João,

I'm a fellow translator (German) and organizer of the website
translations. Welcome on board!
I'll echo Duarte's suggestions to check out the linked Wiki pages :)

The translation statistics for the Inkscape development (master) branch,
(which will soon become Inkscape 1.0) say this about Brazilian
Portuguese currently:

pt_BR: 50% (4700/9267) translated, 27% (2586) fuzzy, 46% (18472/39740)
words translated (rev. date: 2016-10-10)

So it looks like there's a lot to do to make Inkscape's Brazilian
Portuguese version ready for the next big release!

Note that some of the strings may still change until 'string freeze'.
Usually, these are smaller changes, so it's still worth it to start now,
especially as there are so many unfinished translations.

For quick questions about the meaning of strings in the interface and
and other translation talk, we also have a chat channel at
https://chat.inkscape.org/channel/team_translation

I just remembered that there seems to be a problem with Inkscape user
interface translation files currently, see
https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/issues/311

So maybe wait a couple days until this is fixed before you start.

Let us know when you have any questions,
 Maren
