I'm not a translator, so defer to others if there is an established
practice.  But since this didn't get answered within a week, I'll throw
in my thoughts.  Ultimately the goal of the overall website is to give
users good, relevant information that encourages their use of Inkscape
and helps make them better artists.  If a literal translation achieves
this best, then do that; if some adaptation will make for a better fit,
then that should be considered.

So, especially with examples and tutorials, if they're written in a way
that's specific to a culture, nationality, or language, then it makes
sense to change them rather than just make direct translations.
