I don't usually contribute to Inkscape UI translation so I can't tell you much about it, but you can probably start by reading the wiki page about translations http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Translation_information. If you are interested in contributing to the website, you can get more info in the corresponding wiki page http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/WebSite#Translations.
If you have any further doubts don't hesitate to ask. In the meantime I'm sure the admins and your fellow Brazilian translators will reply so you can coordinate effors.
