Hello together,
I'm new here and not a regular Inkscape user. I'm not primarily interested into translating Inkscape. But as member of the maintenance team of a FOSS software [1] I'm interested in sharing experience and opinions about translation and localization.
Accidentally I recognized that Inkscape does not use a platform for translation / localization of its UI and content. Because of the age and size of your project I was suprissed about that fact. IMHO because of that it is hard for non-technical persons to contribute.
Did you ever considered using a translation platform (e.g. Weblate or some of the known commercial platforms)? if so why did you decide against it?
If you are interested I can share my experience with Weblate if you want. It is far away from perfect but does its job and is real free software.
Kind Christian
