It is enough to include a usual header to the translation:
# Translation of Inkscape to yourlanguage. # This file is distributed under the same license as the Inkscape package.
As you see, the second sentence states the license to be GPL (as Inkscape). If you like, you can state it directly to be GPL.

I'm chopping away at the swedish translation (which is not exactly up to date), and now I'm wondering about the legal details of translations.
It seems many projects (GNU projects foremost) require (or prefer) a signed disclaimer to be sent to project managers. I see no such mention in the translation guidelines - is this anything I/you/we need to worry about?
Or do we just "sign off" the translation ala linux, with a short disclaimer stating that it's all free from proprietary work?
