We did, and performance wasn't sufficient for our huge string base.
Since last time someone tried it out, a lot of time has passed. Noone is
currently working on testing things.

What I would like to see tested is the Mozilla platform.
Self-hosting is much preferred, as hosted Weblate, for example, did not
have an acceptable set of administration options at the time, and we may
need some very specific git settings and also would like to be able to
throw malicious translators out / reduce access for extremely
low-quality translators (while weblate hosted was open to anyone, with
no control whatsoever - but we already had a couple of really bad
translators break good translations because they did not invest the time
to understand what exactly they were working on. We're still fixing the
fallout of that today.)
