I personally haven't considered using anything like that, because I'm simply the wrong person to ask :)

Hi,

We (KDE) have very positive experience using Translate extension in our wikis (UserBase [1] and TechBase [2]). Niklas Laxström and Federico Leva helped our admins a lot.

Translate extension can make translators life easier but it needs some constant efforts from wiki administrators. So it would be better if the final decision to be made by wiki administrators.
