Translation plans for 0.46 release
Hi all,
Quick question regarding translations - who will be serving as the translation team lead for this release?
We'll need a plan laid out for the translation work this time. (I.e., when to send out notices, statistics tools to run, places to recruit translators, and so on). We've got plenty of time at this point, so just want to kick things off early so the translation team has plenty of work for doing pre-requisite work they'll want.
Bryce
To recruit translators you could use the translators teams around all the world.

I suggest a ping to last-translator first and when he's not alive, contacting the translation team.
That's true, but Bryce was in search of someone who can plan and take care of that aspect for this release cycle, as he's usually enough busy taking care of the general/conding part of the release. For latest releases this was done mainly by mathipas, cornelius, prokoudine and cmarqu.
I hope someone can step in to help; actually I have not enough time to take care of it, so I'll mainly keep up the Italian side, nothing more :(
Plus, there still an i18n bug regarding menubar tooltips which need to be tracked down (and maybe reported, as it is only mentioned in IRC topic). I'm still bisecting the SVN history to found the culprit, help is appreciated :)
Cheers, Luca

Exactly correct. But good suggestions in any case.
Historically we have had one person named as the translation team coordinator. Is this still a good model for the translation team this release cycle? Or would it make sense to have a pair of people, as we do with the release warden roles? Or a team of coordinators without a designated leader?

Luca, would you mind ensuring this is reported to our bug tracker, and make it marked high priority?

Reported as 1825746. I'll probably go deeper bisecting later this week.

Having more than one translations coordinator coordinator is better, because one person could stay here all the time.
