Translations for 'default.svg' and 'Layer 1'
Hi translators,
we need your help for the default templates translations:
Step 1: -------
Please look into the attached screenshot, and check if your language's po file is in the list.
If it is, then do the following:
Step 2: -------
Please visit https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/blob/master/share/templates/create_defa...
and check if there is a translation for 'Layer 1' in the list.
Step 3: -------
If there isn't, please quickly (until in ~ 5 hours from now), send me your translation for the term 'Layer 1' and your language shortcut (or, even better, the full line that would go into the file linked above).
If you prefer, you can also make a merge request on gitlab.
You can still submit that entry later, but it won't go into the alpha release then anymore.
Thank you!
Kind Regards Maren

Not sure I understand. Looking at the "my @data = ( etc." list, on its second row (the one with space inside names) it appears to be already fully populated with translated terms; then, on the third row everything is left untranslated except for Catalan (I presume this stands for "ca").
Should the "layer1" (no space) also be translated as is the case for Catalan, or just checking and that's it ?
Cristi
Greetings everyone and happy new year.
Maren, I made a merge request https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/merge_requests/480 with the added line for Portuguese from Portugal. This is really out of my league so not sure I actually did it correctly. Let me know if something is missing.
If it is easier for you translation for "Layer 1" is the same as Brazilian Portuguese "Camada 1" in case you prefer to just add it manually.
Cheers

Inkscape-translator mailing list Inkscape-translator@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/inkscape-translator
Hi Cristi,
I just looked into my version of Inkscape master, and couldn't find that translating the part without a space made any difference - it's still called layer1 in the id field for the layer. I can't think of another place where something like layer1 would be used in the program.
So it's probably fine to reset that to layer1 for Catalan.
Is it okay for you if I put that on my todo list?

Entweder-oder: I think that, for the purpose of overall consistency, either (a) the actual "capa1" on Catalan should be reset to "layer1", or (b) the no-spaced "layer1" should be translated into all languages.
Probably (a) is the way to go, but I am not in the position to decide this.

Same for me :) But I'll do it anyway. Thank you!
