Our first official preview release of Inkscape 0.45 is now available for download:

Note that I've just posted the source package; hopefully soon packagers will begin uploading packages for specific platforms.

This release is intended for beta testers. There will be no further functional change between this and the 0.45 final release. Expected changes after this include translations, bug fixes, and packaging cleanup.

Please give it a try, and if you spot issues please make sure they are listed in our bug tracker.
