I've just added a few new strings in ui/widget/panel.cpp
They are for the swatches to have a submenu for changing the shape of the swatches being shown.

Tested it today but it does not seem to work (or have any effects on the UI). I added a note to https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/176130

No, the backing implementation is not completely in yet. However, we wanted to get any string changes/additions done as soon as possible so as to take a bit of pressure off of the translators.
