Re: [Inkscape-translator] [Inkscape-devel] 0.48 About Screen Contest - Developer voting time.
trademark is used to allow the consumers not to be fooled about the quality of a product. By placing a trademark very similar to the Paramount Pictures one in a DVD of another company, the consumers could potentially be fooled. Thus it would potentially be a trademark violation. By doing it in Inkscape, which is something from a totally distinct field, cannot fool anybody, so there is no problem in making such a reference.
Also, Trademarks are enforceable only in their specific fields of the market.

imo that is not appropriate at all.

Leandro, I think you might have misunderstood what Felipe was saying. He said this case (#2) is not a trademark violation.

You are implying that I change because I misunderstood what Felipe wrote :)

Yes, because you quoted him. It didn't make any other sense to me :)

I almost always reply to the last message of the thread.
It appears that #2 is the winner.
Here is a version w/ the spray tool and the newer logo. Let's figure out what else needs to be changed.
Cheers, Josh

The file is big (840kio compared to 150kio or so in 0.47) and a bit slow to render. This time I think we should scour it to reduce its size and optimize the code. It won't give a huge performance boost, but at least reduce the file size by about 200kio (260kio if you also remove Inkscape specific attributes).
Franklin Gothic Heavy and Pristina fonts are not installed on my Ubuntu system, and those installed on Windows XP are trademarked (ITC and Esselte Corp.). Since the text is converted to path it's not a technical issue, but IMHO, we should use opensource friendly fonts (even if we don't translate it). But if it's the artist's will, I can easily cope with it.
