Inkscape Website: Autumn link cleanout
Dear fellow Inkscape website translators,
I've just done a bit of link-checking on the Inkscape website, and this is what came out of it: (does anyone know what happened to flossmanualsfr?)
Most of the changes aren't visible at all, the anchors sometimes need to be edited in the source of the page.
------------------------- https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/:
- removed link to kaoia.com (dead) and adapted text - remove Inklatex link (dead) and adapted text
fix anchors: - change case: #how-to-use-Inkscape-from-the-command-line -> #how-to-use-inkscape-from-the-command-line
- change case: #how-to-open-EPS-files-in-Windows -> #how-to-open-eps-files-in-windows
Dead links to re-check: - http://inkscape.13.x6.nabble.com/Windows-Console-Options-td2792080.html/#a27... -> no action yet
/---------------------- https://inkscape.org/en/develop/:
- update anchors and adapt text for mailing lists (inkscape-devel, inkscape-docs)
- flossmanualsfr not reachable. Needs to be re-checked. No action here.
--------------------- https://inkscape.org/en/support-us/sponsors/:
- Update 'Contact us' link
------------------- https://inkscape.org/en/contribute/promote/
- update anchor to devel mailing list (#inkscape-devel) - update link to openclipart (https://openclipart.org/)
----------------- https://inkscape.org/en/community/discussion/
- FAQ link anchor updated to: where-to-find-more-help-with-inkscape
-------------- https://inkscape.org/en/learn/animation/
- update link anchor to FAQ (case) for extension installation to: how-to-install-new-extensions-palettes-document-templates-symbol-sets-icon-sets-etc
---------------- https://inkscape.org/en/community/inkscape-around-internet/
- fix link to OCAL (remove www.) - remove link to inkscapestuff (asks for login) - remove link to C-chan @ OS-tan Collections (dead)
- needs re-checking: http://www.nojhan.net/art/index.php?tag/inkscape -> no action yet
-------------- https://inkscape.org/en/download/
- asked V about replacement link for additional OS X 10.7-10.10 info: https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/5750/ is now updated to: https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/item/3884/Inkscape-0.91-1-x11-10.7-x86_64-in...
------------- https://inkscape.org/en/community/coc/
- remove link to SpeakUp! (their website is gone)
------------- https://inkscape.org/en/contribute/testing/
- several dead links, page needs complete revamp, so no action here.
------------- https://inkscape.org/en/contribute/to-do-list/
- flossmanualsfr currently unavailable, needs re-checking -> no action
------------- https://inkscape.org/en/develop/getting-started/
- update link to using-git page - remove link to non-existant C++ FAQ
------------- https://inkscape.org/en/learn/animation/
- caniuse currently not available (I'm sure it's going to be back soon, though) -> no action
-------------- https://inkscape.org/en/learn/animation/
- updated link for raphael to http://dmitrybaranovskiy.github.io/raphael/
---------------
So lets get the other languages into shape now!
Kind Regards, Maren

Thanks Maren. On English and French pages, I often changed the anchors to have them follow the automatic urlifying by the TOC and have some consistency, but I never did a serious link checking nor told anybody about it. Recently, I eventually changed the TOC's urlifying, to use urlify.js (from Django? used for automatic page/news article slug generation), so the anchors might change for some of us. urlify.js gives support for some non-latin alphabets, eg. Greek, Russian, and letters with diacritics (é, à, î…). Something strange with this URLify, is that it removes some small English words from the URL, which is very annoying and absolutely not international.
(does anyone know what happened to flossmanualsfr?)
I don’t have any idea. Have you tried to contact Elisa?
https://inkscape.org/en/support-us/sponsors/:
- Update 'Contact us' link
This link could have a clean CMS link/redirect maybe, in the page tree. Could you set this up?
Kind regards, -- Sylvain

Means some anchors will change again when pushed to live.
Other suggestion: here https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#is-inkscape-ready-for-regular-users we can use bold instead of underlined (for ‘You can start using Inkscape…’). It's more common typography (from my experience at least), and can be used as now our headings are not bold anymore.
Something else: I wasn't able to receive any diffs from the website… I thought the checkbox ‘Website Page Published’ → ‘Send Email Too’ in the Message Settings was the right way to enable this feature. https://inkscape.org/en/alerts/settings/ How can I receive the diffs? -- Sylvain

This section is very splitted — :). Can I Use works now.
- fix link to OCAL (remove www.)
Openclipart library (searching OCAL on the page doesn't give any results!). ‘Openclipart’ seems to be written with a single capital letter on the website.
Now entirely updated for French.
