Are there any plans on string freeze?
As I remember there were plans to release Inkscape 0.49 at the end of 2012, but it still isn't here. so I'm wondering is there any new plans for it? Personally I'm interesting in string freeze...
Hi Hleb,
Truthfully, there is no point in us doing a string freeze at this point. We have too many bugs blocking the next release right now and so development is still ongoing to include new complete features and polish things more (including small things with small string changes/additions). The estimate for 2012 was overly-hopeful, at this point I would expect a release in the latter half of this year. Don't worry though, when we're actually approaching a release we will make sure to provide plenty of string freeze time.
Cheers, Josh
