I think I might have screwed up now. I was about to translate the Portuguese page, but somehow pressing the banner home link took me back to the English language page without being aware of it. I noticed before publish the changes, but not before pressing the Save button.
In an attempt to undo the damage pressed the "Revert to live" but that seems to have made all content invisible. I hope I haven't screwed up again this time, sorry for the inconvenience. :S
One other unrelated thing that I noticed is that the message notifications icon at the top right is always flashing and states 87 unread messages, even though I cleared all the notifications and if I visit the Alerts page it reads "No messages or alerts to view"

I think by now we can be sure that what you and Sylvain experienced is a bug, not a 'screwing up' on your part.

I didn't test the latest website functionality for a long time, because I've been busy moving (we're just now starting to get into some kind of half-way normal routine again), and I've also never deleted any unread messages on the live site, so that could be a reason why it worked for me, but not for you ;-) Thanks for your help with pinpointing the problem!

Most welcome, hope this helps. I reported the bug anyway, with this new insight, hopefully easing to pinpoint the problem.
I wish you best of luck with your moving. I'm currently on vacations with limited internet connection availability, and I'll also be making some movings myself later this year. Full home renovation will be taking place, so I'll be spending some time away from home and regular routine while works are underway. I'm planning to keep my regular schedule and resources intact though, so hopefully my availability for translations should be more or less the same. :-)

It is a known bug, we reported it to django-cms: https://github.com/divio/django-cms/issues/3599 It was tagged as a blocker bug a month ago, I hadn't noticed it. This is great.
Maybe Martin will be able to take the data from a local instance.
Clicking the logo/project name/slogan at the top-left leads to the English homepage. This is because `/` automatically redirects to `/en` as Martin noticed that the language selection used a lot of performance.
I'm going to summarize the situation to Martin.
