Re: [Inkscape-translator] Hebrew translation update
Excellent. Thank you Yaron. Especially your final paragraph is of great consolation to me. "The more advanced users prefer the English interface beacuse most of the technical terms are hard to understand in Hebrew and also it is less likely you'll find an answer to your problems by googling your error messages (in Hebrew)" The reason I'm asking is that I'm currently tasked with creating an international GUI Design guideline for our range of applications here at work but I can not find any good sources on the actual usage of RTL interfaces so I'm simply asking everyone/everywhere about how much mirrored GUIs are actually used. (I know it's low-tech research ;) ) Our applications are geared towards technical users so I guess our (potential) users would go for an English interface anyway. Furthermore I'd like to work on Inkscape UI in the future and if I know that there are many non-professional users I'd take greater care in making unidirectional icons and such (not use left-right arrows etc.) Thanks, again. The GUI is aligned correctly but there are some minor errors I can take some screenshots if needed
Windows is mirrored to match RTL since 3.11 KDE and GNOME were fully adjusted to Hebrew (mirroring) during the last couple of years Nowadays the distros that support Hebrew has a mirroring mechanism Our main problem is the CLI which doesn't offer any support for Hebrew typing and display (all of the semitic languages including persian)

Hi, Yaron. Can I ask you about something a little OT? Is your OS translated to Hebrew? If so, is the GUI layout also reversed/mirrored compared with the english version of that OS? Meaning, where the English version of the GUI (assuming you're using windows) would have the application menu on the left and the system tray on the right side, the mirrored version would have applications menu on the right and system tray on the left side. And, finally, among Hebrew users, do you know if it's most common to use a mirrored Hebrew user interface or does the average computer professional simply use the default English OS setup? Also, there is your email address in the Language-Team header. Is there a Hebrew translators mailing list? Please use that address instead.
